History Curriculum
Our Vision
At St Luke’s, we aim to create an inclusive and enriching environment that enables children to develop a deep understanding of the past, its significance, and its impact on the present and future. By providing aspirational approaches to learning, our curriculum is designed to ensure that all pupils acquire a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. We strive for every child to be able to think critically, draw connections, and articulate their insights about historical events and figures to help them reach their God given potential.
Guided by the wisdom of God, we seek to instil values of respect and compassion, enabling pupils to appreciate diverse cultures, beliefs, and perspectives throughout history. By fostering a comprehensive and reflective History curriculum, we ensure that our pupils are not only historians, but also empathetic and understanding of their heritage and committed to understanding the world around them.
Here are some of the fun and exciting ways that we bring History to life at St Luke’s:
- Florence Nightingale, Emily Davison, Roman and Samuel Pepys Zoom Calls
