Year 3 visit to Park Hill Farm
Year 3 enjoyed a fabulous visit to Park Hill Farm, a working farm in Market Drayton, last week. The children had the opportunity to feed lambs, share their banana skins with the pigs and sample some of the farm's produce during a delicious barbecue lunch! For some, this was the highlight of the day, while others loved the opportunity to get their wellies wet while pond dipping for all sorts of interesting creatures. Farmers Pat and John and Kenzie the dog gave all the children a warm welcome and they were very impressed with the good behaviour and keen interest shown by all the pupils.
Year 5 Boys' Football Tornament
Some of the boys from our Year 5 played in a football tournament at Rugeley Leisure Centre last Thursday. Both squads taken played extremely well throughout, with one team winning the competition in a tense final. Well done to all those who were involved!
Year 6 Athletics Tournament
A team of budding future sports stars from year 6 travelled to Fenton Manor in Stoke on Wednesday 28th February to represent St Luke's in an Athletics tournament. As you can see from these photos, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and should be very proud of achieving 5th place, given the strong competition from other schools. Well done Year 6!
Year 3 cream tea
Recently, year 3 enjoyed the opportunity to share the scones and jam they had made at school with their families, along with a spot of cream and tea drunk from the best china! They were blessed with a sunny afternoon for the event and a good time was had by all. Many thanks to all the family members for coming along. Extra special thanks go to the parent helpers who made it all possible - the teachers were very grateful that they didn't have to do the washing up all by themselves!
Year 3 trip to Park Hill Farm
Both year 3 classes enjoyed their trips to Park Hill Farm as part of our "Down on the Farm" topic recently. We had the chance to use our fieldwork skills by doing some pond dipping. We found out lots about where meat and eggs come from and very much enjoyed a BBQ in the sunshine. Many thanks to the parents who were able to give up their time to accompany us.
