Year 3

Year 3 team (ID 1124)

Welcome to Year 3 - Please view our Meet the Teacher Presentation here.

Our Year 3 teachers are Mrs Mercer and Miss Hanlon and our teaching assistants are Mrs Hinks and Mrs Salt.

As children start their journey through Key Stage 2, we encourage them to become independent, considerate learners and citizens. Using My Happy Mind, we address children’s worries and concerns, helping them to come up with their own solutions. We expect children, through nurture, to become responsible for their own learning and organisation. Inspiring children through challenge, we embed a culture of positivity and a ‘can do’ attitude and guide them to resolve friendship issues themselves (where appropriate). By teaching children the skills of resilience, responsibility, co-operation and collaboration, we equip children with a tool kit to face life.

We aim to deliver a curriculum which encompasses all abilities and supports every child to make the most progress possible. Our children have hands on experience in all areas of the curriculum for example: Creating models of our local area using junk materials, play dough, paint and construction toys and taking part in hands-on workshops to learn more about the Egyptians and the Stone Age.

Staff are always available to discuss concerns or answer questions. Parents/Carers are welcome to contact teaching staff via the following emails:

Mrs S. Mercer: s.mercer@st-lukes-cannock.staffs.sch.uk

Miss S.Hanlon: s.hanlon@st-lukes-cannock.staffs.sch.uk
